Kington Art Society
The Society is a welcoming amateur group painting for pleasure and with a social element to our activities. It has more than 25 active artists many of whom are long-
We meet weekly to dedicate quality time to creating artwork and thrive on mutual support, enthusiam and encouragement of other members. Although inspiration may come from many sources, whatever the inspiration is, the desire is for self expression in creating something original. A wide variety of techniques are used by different members (see examples below) and which range from watercolour, pencil, acrylics to egg tempera and collage. Different subjects and different often warrant different technical approaches.
Experimentation is always stimulating if not always successful. Subject varies widely from local views, flowers, birds and animals, landscapes, en plein air sketches to portraits, buildings and abstract. The Society draws its mebership mostly from people living in and around Kington and has been running for nearly 30 years. We meet on Thursday afternoon at Kingswood village Hall (near the Small Breeds Farm)
