Lois Hopwood studied Fine Art at The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne 1982 - 86 and won the South West Open in 86 .
She worked in the decorative arts as a Textile conservator at Hampton Court Palace. She studied interior design at Chelsea for a diploma and worked for interior designers in London and Herefordshire.
In 2002 Lois gained her MA in Screen Design from the National Film and Television School and worked as an assistant on two of the Harry Potter films, charlotte Grey and Neverland.
Moving to Wales in 2003 she has settled in Knucklas with the Potter Tony Hall, where they have established Castle Hill Arts
Lois has exhibited in the Ludlow Open, Oriel Davies, Silk Top Hat, and Twenty Twenty Gallery and most recently with Val Harris at the Table in Hay. In 2010 she won the drawing Bursary at the ING Discerning eye. 'No animals' was part of her first solo exhibition at the Courtyard Hereford. Her solo show Lois Hopwood Landscapes at the Bleddfa gallery runs until June .
Lois is a member of Abstract Edge who have an exhibition in Bucknal Church.
'I have always loved drawing and put it at the centre of my work which as I grow older becomes more abstract'.
